DANCE, EAT, HAVE FUN AND LEARN!

Huntington Beach is a City known as a “Great Place to Age.” The upcoming Active Living Expo event at the Senior Center in Central Park (18041 Goldenwest St) is certainly a reflection of that. This free event will take place on Saturday, September 17, 2022, from 10am to 1pm, and will be the largest event at the Center since its opening in 2016. The event will feature over 80 vendors and resource tables, including City services and various groups from the Center including the HBPD and HB Fire Department.

Finding new ways to explore aging, the Expo will provide information from a large swath of the aging community: Hempeutics Pharmacy, Genealogical Society, Medicare Brokers, Independent and Assisted Living, Home Health Care, the Philharmonic Society, Home Safety, the Assistance League and personal trainers from Always in Motion. This is a just a sample of all the things that will be offered.

The Hoag Hospital Stage will offer three unique musical groups including the Dixiedelics Brass Band, Deke Dickerson, and the Whippersnappers performing vintage-sounding swing and rock-n-roll. Center favorites Ernando and the Nandos will close the showcase with their brand of top forty hits. Food will be available from Baby’s Burgers as well as shaved ice and other snacks available for purchase.

The Senior Center in Central Park is celebrating a return after three years of closures, and limited classes and programs. City staff and volunteers are eager to show off what is important in aging services. For more information, please call the Senior Center in Central Park at (714) 536-5600.

This event is possible thanks to the strong partnership between the City of Huntington Beach and the Huntington Beach Council on Aging (HBCOA), as well as our major sponsors: Hoag Hospital, MemorialCare Medical Group, and Syrentis Clinical Research.
