Donate Funds to Support our Seniors Groceries for Seniors February 1- March 15

Food insecurity is a complex issue for many older adults. Those experiencing isolation, chronic health concerns, lower incomes, and high rent or care expenses may find it difficult to access resources. This can lead to poorer health, both physically and mentally. Struggling to live on a month-to-month fixed income budget increases stress, especially when having to decide between food and other necessities such a medications or utilities.

This year, the DreamCatchers Auxiliary of the Assistance League Huntington Beach is partnering with the SCCP team to help raise funds and reduce food insecurity in at-risk older adults. Every dollar donated goes directly to local seniors in HB to help supplement their grocery budget.

To make a donation toward their Groceries for Seniors campaign, simply go to https:// www.assistanceleague.org and go to the Huntington Beach Dream Catchers donation page, click on the donate button. Type ‘Groceries for Seniors’ in place of “Name of Person” Or send a check to Assistance League of HB, Attn. Stepanie Billington, 8071 Slater Avenue, Ste. 105, HB, CA 92647. (No food donations are accepted at Assistance League or Senior Center in Central Park.)

Thank You HandyCrafters!

The HandyCrafters have made some wonderful contributions to the Senior Center over the years and already this year they have contributed to the purchase of the new uplighting to be used around the Parkview room during our events. This contribution will help ease set-up for event staff and adds a fun effect to the room.

Thank you!
