Evergreen Tree of Life Legacy Donor Program

On Wednesday, November 3, 2023 the Senior Center in Central Park unveiled a new sponsor recognition initiative—the Evergreen Tree of Life Legacy Donor Program. Donors, HBCOA board members, City dignitaries, and center staff gathered together to honor the many who have provided for the expansion of senior services at the new Senior Center.

The program celebrates donors who have been steadfast providers since the opening of the Senior Center in Central Park five years ago, as well as pave the way for a continued future of aging with dignity, innovative programming, and exceptional services to the community.

This new annual giving legacy campaign allows donors to engage with the center on a direct level and donate funds for programming and services. Senior Services provides tremendous support and essential services to the community and many gracious donors recognize that value. As part of the campaign, donors are recognized at annual giving levels starting at $1,000 and with distinguishing levels for each $5,000 increment thereafter. Annual donations allow for new and inventive programming to be provided at the center as well add sustaining programs such as care management, home delivered meals, and the Surf City Seniors On the Go program.

Each level of giving is provided with benefits to use at the center, such as a three month gym membership, tickets to concerts or dances, day trips, or invitations to the annual Seashells and Jingle Bells winter gala, as well as a leaf on the tree of Life at the Senior Center. Donors who have reached a lifetime giving of $25,000 or more receive permanent recognition on the wall for their efforts in furthering senior services and aging with dignity and independence in the community.
