Senior Center in Central Park
The Senior Center in Central Park is a focal point for an array of programs and services important to the quality of life for the seniors in our community. The center is a multi-purpose facility and offers opportunities for involvement and companionship with a wide range of social, recreational and educational programs promoting wellness.
Enter the Senior Center and you will notice a feeling of openness as light pours through the Grand Entry windows overlooking the park. Our friendly volunteers will make you feel at home as you are welcomed and provided class, activity, and event information. Regular visitors will receive a unique slide card that gives access to a computer where you will select the activities you plan to attend during your visit.
The Senior Center in Central Park offers many services that address common issues that confront seniors in the community. These services provide much needed assistance on subjects ranging from healthcare to taxes.
Classes include a broad curriculum where adults and seniors can sharpen skills, get a workout, and exercise the mind. There are two classrooms for Lifelong Learning, and a computer learning center. Courses are offered through City of Huntington Beach-Community Services (SANDS), Huntington Beach Adult School, and volunteer instructors.

Gearing up for SUMMER!!
As the county moves into the less restrictive tiers we should see our summer looking much better! From our current Orange tier moving into the Yellow tier then possibly no tier, gives us the ability to utilize our room space better and offer more recreational opportunities. While the build back may take time, we are excited to keep moving in such a positive direction!
At this time visiting the senior center is still by appointment only, no walk-ins or passive movement is permitted in the building. We look forward to communicating with you as things change and as the numbers continue to move in the right direction.
This summer we hope to see more in person classes offered as well as an increase in the number of participants allowed in each class and the fitness center. We will continue to offer a variety of virtual classes as well so that everybody can participate with the center in a way that they feel most comfortable with.
Stay tuned and keep a lookout for the SUMMER SANDS! It will be mailed out to city residents the week of May 24th. Registration will begin on Tuesday, June 8th for all virtual classes and then 14 days prior to the start date for all in—person classes.
You can register at HBSANDS.org. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to give us a call at 714-536-5600
